Quarterly Primer Days are organised to help us grow and enrich our Bible-based and Christ-centred perspective of Ageing.
Why “Primer”? There are 3 definitions of “primer” which are useful here. It is the coat of paint used to prepare a surface, a device for igniting an explosive and an introductory book or informative writing. It is therefore our prayer that our Quarterly Primer Days will help us lay a good firm foundation in Christ for the senior years of our lives as His disciples.
In 2025, we will be tackling these 4 aspects of life: spiritual, physical, brain and relationships.
Organised by TPBC Seniors’ Ministry and all are welcome to Primer Day, not just our senior members.
Register now for 22 Feb.
As a disciple of Christ, we know that our relationship with God and what He has to say about life should form the basis not just for the religious part but all and every area of our lives.
As a senior, if we have been a believer for many years, are we keeping our walk with the Lord fresh and dynamic or have we become jaded and merely going through routines?
If we are a newer believer, what are some key ways to build up our relationship with God?
Primer Day will start at 9.30 am with a time of worship and our Senior Pastor Jacob will share a short devotion from God’s Word on the spiritual aspect of ageing.
Following that, in small groups, we will attend 2 out of 4 small group breakout sessions. Each session will be 45 minutes long.
We will then end off with lunch.

What is our prayer life like? What are our prayers all about? Are we enjoying our time with God in prayer?
Sis Bee Lu will share with us her understanding of prayer from God’s Word and her personal experience in prayer to encourage us to enjoy this privilege of being able to come before God in prayer.

What is it like to become a believer later in life? And what is it like to journey with a new believer who is a senior?
Hear from the testimony of Bro Eng Tiong about coming to know the Lord at a later stage in life, and also from Bro Kok Beng who was helping Bro Eng Tiong grow mature in Christ.
Our prayer is to excite us about reaching out to our senior peers, and also to be ready to walk alongside with a senior new believer to help establish their faith.

Having a good and memorable overview of different parts of the Bible helps us better appreciate what we are reading and studying in the Bible.
Bro Lawrence has created a number of such memorable overviews and he will share the one he has for the Old Testament. May this excite us to continue diving into God’s Word and equip us with a way to share our love for God’s Word.

Have you considered the use of apps as part of your Quiet Time with the Lord?
Sis Lian Choo and Sis Ruth Chan would be sharing from their personal experience of using such an app: what the features of the app are and how they have found it helpful in their Quiet Time and walk with the Lord.

Bring the books (maximum of 2 each) and put them out for loan till the last Primer Day for this year on 22 Nov when we will return the books to you.
